• It’s a rare experience to have one’s high expectations exceeded, but that was exactly our experience with a one-week rental of this remarkably appointed and stunningly decorated apartment near St. Germaine de Pres.

I fear writing too much would suggest I’m a shill, so I will offer a few highlights, which include interior design worthy of a magazine pictorial, a remarkable and eclectic array of art, a contemporary kitchen, a Master Suite bathroom which is a marble laden extravaganza. There is another three-quarter bath, also marble laden and the shower head is one of the 3 best I’ve ever experienced. Washer and dryer a great perquisite when staying an extended period and the street is not only quiet, but within 100 meters of a gourmet grocery, a quintessential Parisian fromagerie, two excellent wine shops, boulangerie and blocks and blocks of outstanding shopping , restaurants and art galleries.

In short, I couldn’t write a better review and one literally has to see it to believe it. It made for a remarkable trip and I offer this with some perspective, having stayed at the Four Seasons George V in a suite. I would suggest this over that without hesitation.

Last but not least, this lease came with the incomparable Concierge services of a Mr. Rik Gitlin, who not only procured hard-to-get reservations for us at many different spots in Paris, but also kindly modified times and dates, given our short notice requests. He also provided transportation arrangements and offered suggestions for the “not too touristy” tastes of adventurous travel sorts like ourselves.

    This is a can’t miss.

  • This was to be our last family vacation for a bit given the ages and pursuits of our children, so we wanted it to be special. Paris seemed like the perfect spot for so many reasons. As we often do, we decided to look for an apartment. Just as we couldn’t find the “perfect” place, I tried one more website, Paris Copia. After receiving a very prompt return phone call from their representative, I was remarkably impressed by the professionalism and care to our needs that was shown. I knew this was the perfect match for us. The Bernadette was recommended and after researching it, we decided to rent this apartment. From day one, the constant communications and expressed desire to ensure our happiness and to ease our fears were overwhelming. As an experienced vacation renter, I never received such attention to detail. We were provided a concierge, a transplanted American residing in Paris, who reached out to us and for the next 5 months, we worked together to ensure a wonderful experience. He arranged transportation to and from the airport and helped put together an itinerary, including dinner reservations, for our 2 weeks in Paris. Upon arriving at the apartment, we were greeted by the lovely French, but in many ways American, apartment manager who showed us everything we needed to know about Bernadette and the surrounding area. The Bernadette is perfectly situated in the heart of le Marais, a vibrant, exciting part of Paris, close to great restaurants, the Metro, walking distance to Notre Dame, Ile St. Louis and Ile de la Cite, the Left Bank and so much more. Given all that, and at the end of each long day, we knew we could come home to a wonderful setting, a place that immediately truly felt like home. The apartment was adorned with every amenity and detail one could want, including a professional kitchen, electronic shades that made the bedrooms sleepily dark, luxurious linens and so much more. While often stated by apartment renters, but rarely accomplished, at Bernadette, you can leave all your worries behind and know that all your needs are in place. Of special note is the central air conditioning, a rarity in Paris. As we were there during a string of 100 degree (F) days, it was an incredible benefit. Our concierge continued to make sure we were in good shape, changing reservations on the fly and helping arrange unusual, interesting events not on the typical tourist road map. I cannot compliment or give gratitude to Paris Copia and its staff completely in words, nor can I adequately described the Bernadette experience. To assure you that the level of professionalism cannot be beat, upon arrival home, I received a phone call from our representative and we spent about 30 minutes discussing our vacation. Of course, this came after having received a “thank you” gift in the mail from Paris Copia, something I’ve never experienced with any other rental. If you are looking to experience Paris in a beautiful, carefree way in a location that cannot be topped, experience the City of Light with the Bernadette and Paris Copia, a true match made in heaven. I know for sure we will again.

  • Over Christmas, 2014, we stayed in a lovely apartment (Bernadette) in the Le Marais district of Paris (France, of course.)  Bernadette is a two bedroom, two and a half bath luxury rental – perfect for two couples or a family of four.  The apartment is on a narrow, but well-traveled street near the old Jewish quarter, one flight up from street level (with a small, but serviceable elevator).  There were boutique shops, bistros, bakeries, bars, and restaurants throughout the nearby streets.  Our favorite restaurant was Camille – no more than 30 steps away on the opposite side of the street.  Charming staff and good food.

The apartment boasts a modern kitchen, a dining table with seating for six, and a lovely living room area in addition to the two bedrooms.  The bedrooms are fairly large, the closet space ample, and the attached bathrooms luxurious.  The beds are comfortable and the linens are top quality.  The bedrooms face the buildings internal courtyard and we slept soundly with no problems from street noise.  The floor to ceiling windows in the main living area overlook the street and a bustling, but completely tolerable, street scene.  We immensely enjoyed savoring our morning coffee and afternoon aperitif at the little breakfast nook in the kitchen overlooking the street.  Locals and tourists passed under our windows in a fascinating flow of fashion and often flamboyance.

Our stay was certainly made stress-free by the availability of a dishwasher, microwave, American-size refrigerator, and a clothes washer and dryer set.  The kitchen was well equipped with all the silverware, glassware, cooking utensils, and spices we could possibly need to enjoy many a meal at the apartment.  It was a nice and relaxing change from our regular visits to the many choices for eating Paris has to offer.  It was loads of fun going shopping in the nearby specialty stores (fromageries, patisseries, etc.) and markets and making our own meals – just like locals!

We were especially delighted that Paris Copia arranged for the apartment to be stocked prior to our arrival with a number of staples (coffee, tea, sugar, milk, etc.) as well as some surprising luxuries – a couple of bottles of wine, a baguette, some pastries, and some cheese.  Very thoughtful. Paris is a walking town and the location of Bernadette was perfect for exploring the 3rd and 4th districts and for extended walks to the Louvre, Notre Dame, Saint-Germain de Pres, the Musee d’Orsay, the Rue de Rivoli, etc.

  • I wanted to take a few moments and thank you, Paris Copia, for the wonderful experience that we had while staying in one of your apartments in Paris. Everything was as advertised. The apartment was beautiful and perfectly located to allow us to walk to many of our destinations. The drivers that you provided for our round trip transportation to and from the airport were professional, courteous, and on-time. Finally, Rik was simply amazing. We certainly put him to the test with numerous requests and he never let us down. As you know, the main purpose of the trip was to celebrate my wife’s 50th birthday, which we were able to do with a wonderful dinner in the Eiffel Tower thanks to Rik and his diligence with the restaurant.

I can not thank the two of you enough, as well as the rest of your team, for an absolutely amazing and unforgettable vacation. Needless to say, we’ll be calling on you again when we return to Paris next year!!!

  • Paris in the winter was beautiful! Thank you for helping me choose Bernadette. It was my kind of place. A secret gem in the middle Le Marais. Rik is an absolute delight by the way!
